Over the passed few years, I have been fortunate enough to photograph the Aqulle Midmar Mile. The worlds biggest open water swim always promises some amazing memories, and there was none more memorable than the 2016 edition of the edition of the event.

The 2016 edition of the event, saw a double victory for South Africa in both the main events, with Michelle Weber and Chad Ho both crossing the finish line first.

I find open water swimming, to be one of the more challenging sports to photograph. With limited opportunity for close ups, and getting that perfect shot within a predicted split second always makes for a fun challenge.

It is always such an honour to photograph such amazing events like the Midmar Mile. It always brings up their own unique challenges that make it very entertaining to capture.

Until next time.
